Who doesn’t like a good laugh.
My Gimpy Life is an original comedy online series created by and starring Teal Sherer, who is best known as “Venom” from Felicia Day’s The Guild. Everyone hates waiting in line period. So apparently a company decided to use people with disabilities as an amusement park “advantage” and market to wealthy clientele.
Some wealthy Manhattan moms have figured out a way to cut the long lines at Disney World — by hiring disabled people to pose as family members so they and their kids can jump to the front, The Post has learned.
The “black-market Disney guides” run $130 an hour, or $1,040 for an eight-hour day.
The woman said she hired a Dream Tours guide to escort her, her husband and their 1-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter through the park in a motorized scooter with a “handicapped” sign on it. The group was sent straight to an auxiliary entrance at the front of each attraction. – Read more on the nypost.com
Now, I have a bit of mixed feelings about this. I mean it is an advantage we have as a disabled community but is it taking it too far? I don’t know. Ah screw it! I’ll do it for $50 bucks an hour, throw in a case of beer and you got yourself a deal!

What started as a class project turned into an award-winning invention for a group of University of Virginia students. The engineering students created a solar-powered wheelchair.
Alper Sirvan’s life just got a little bit easier. He has cerebral palsy and lives in Turkey. He has never met the students who built the solar-powered wheelchair but he’s benefiting from the group’s success firsthand.
Waldron says the group had to tear down the wheelchair four times before they finally got it right. Group members say they look forward to sending the finished project off to Turkey so Sirvan can use it. - Read more and watch the video www.nbc29.com
I have got to admit, this is pretty awesome! When I was in college, most of my “class projects” consisted of fighting off the multiple hangovers long enough to pay attention in class. I’m pretty sure someone already invented something to help that. Coffee, energy drinks, crack. Darn it! All the good inventions have already been taken!

Wheelchair gamers REJOICE! It’s in the works!
By modifying a Microsoft Kinect sensor, a research project at the Computer Human Interaction (CHI) conference demonstrated how gamers in a wheelchair could interact with motion games. “If we were using the Kinect SDK in the traditional way then people would be sitting in one fixed location and using their hands and arms as input,” said Kathrin Greling a Ph.D. student at the University of Saskatchewan. She said the modification that she made to the Kinect meant that the system could take into account the position and movement of the wheelchair.
“What we’ve done so far is mapped the wheelchair movements onto commercially available games,” she said. “We think there is also a lot of design opportunity related to specific wheelchair gestures.”- Read more and watch the video at www.techhive.com
The possibilities! Now wheelchair users can look forward to get there ass shaking on… or wheel shaking. Looking forward to this innovation!
Now we just need girls to start planning on making videos gaming in a wheelchair sexy. Here is an example ladies. Just Saying.

Another Friday! Here’s to wishing you a great weekend and a HAPPY CINCO de MAYO!
Now go out and drink that Te-Kill-Ya! (Tequila for those who don’t get it)
